Most Web Applications consist of three pieces: the web site layout, business logic, and a database to store information. Database programing and web site integration is one of our specialties. There are so many uses for Web Applications, it would be nearly impossible to list them all here. Some examples, however, include billing & invoicing systems, staff managment, time cards, online reservation booking, customer tracking, project management, online auctions, blog publishing, online training or shopping systems.
So Why have a Web Application?
Because they allow you to manage your information more efficiently and effectively. Web applications, though they exist "on the web" are just like any other program on your computer. Image using your web site like Microsoft Excel, to sort, organize and generate reports on any data your business generates.
Because this application is on the internet, it means you can access it from anywhere (home, office, hotel, etc). It also means it can be used by multiple people at one time.
Even if all you want is a web site, a web application can allow you to manage your web site, changing information as often as you like.
So why would you want to change information that often? The first reason should be because fresh web sites (with
current and regularly changing information) tend to have the most return visitors. Who wants to keep going back to a
web site that never changes, or doesn't have new and interesting things to entice them? The second reason is,
you will probably have to at some point, anyway. Prices change, taxes change and employees change. Change is one of the most brutal laws' of business.
If you don't your business may become extinct. Keeping your customers up-to-date should be the first goal of any business (and web site).
