Start Outlook Express
If it attempts to connect click on work offline or cancel - you do not need to be online to make these settings
Click on Tools
Click on Accounts
Click on Mail Tab on top of Accounts Screen
First - Remove all mail accounts by clicking on them and then on
the remove button to the right - Say 'Yes' to request
Now Click on Add and Mail
Display name = mail.mydomain.com (replace mydomain.com with your domain name)
Next
Type in your email address which is your username plus @mydomain.com - note no spaces, commas, etc.
Next
At the top it should say - My incoming mail server is a POP3 - LEAVE THIS
In the Incoming Mail Server Area type in mail.mydomain.com (replace mydomain.com with your domain name)
In the Outgoing Mail Server Area type in mail.mydomain.com (replace mydomain.com with your domain name)
Next
Put in your username and password (Use your full email address e.g. user@mydomain.com in the username box)
Next
Finish - if it asks for a connection option select Connect using my phone line and Next and Select your dial-up connection then Finish
Click on Close on the Accounts screen
Click on Tools at the top of Outlook Express
Click on Accounts
Click on Mail tab on top of Accounts screen
Click on Properties button on right
This should take you to the General Area
Leave the top area that says mail.mydomain.com alone - Do Not change
Under the User Information area
In Name put in how you want your email to be shown as being from when you send it
In the Email address make sure your email address is correct
In the Reply area duplicate your email address entry
Click on OK and Close and then Close Outlook Express
You should now be able to login and send and receive your email. You can test this by sending an email to yourself
